PROJECT MANAGEMENT & METHODOLOGY

Plan

All of our apps begin in the planning phase. Planning involves sitting down with our clients, listening to their ideas, and creating a model for integrating the ideas with a mobile platform. How clients present their ideas depends on their technical knowledge. It can be as simple as sketching the app on a piece of paper, but is often more complicated, drawing together third party modeling software and existing software platforms to engineer highly detailed schematics.

Design

After a plan is reviewed and approved by the Dev Team, the plan is turned over to our User Interface / User Experience (UI/UX) team. Our UI/UX designers will design the various graphics within your app, then compose them in individual screens and model the different segues (the method from moving from one screen to another). Additionally, they will design an intuitive, user-friendly controller for navigating your app. Combined, these components are the User Interface. Our UI/UX team strives for clean, simple, and elegant designs. We believe that the app itself should be an extension of the user’s thought process, allowing the user to engage with the app and navigate through the app’s function as though it were second nature.

Develop

AppStart takes pride in its development team. We have selected talented, creative, natural problem solvers that have extensive experience in both iOS and Android development. Once the Dev Team receives the client approved design, they will begin coding the actual functionality into the different elements of the app. At AppStart, our motto is, “If you can dream it, we can code it” and we mean this literally. In addition to the various functionality already introduced to the app market and utilized by the many millions of produced mobile apps, our developers can code, from the ground up, any fundamentally new functionality our clients want to introduce to the market themselves. It is often these novel ideas that make for truly successful apps and AppStart specializes in this type of “custom” coding.

Test

Our apps are delivered highly polished and bug free. In order to do so, all AppStart products are subjected to rigorous testing that often begins in the development. The amount of testing and the type of testing performed is related to the size and scale of the app. Generally, all apps start the testing process “in-house”. Members of the staff will test all major components and functionality of the app before moving over to third-party testers hired specifically to find and document bugs. Larger, more intensive apps, will then proceed to a closed beta consisting of a trusted pool of users that will use the app for its intended functionality to generate user data that helps us target and apply fixes as necessary. During each phase of testing, our clients will have access to the current build and a detailed testing report consisting of identified bugs and applied fixes.

Revise & Manage

Once a stable, bug-free, highly polished build is approved by the client, the app will be ready for release. As with any successful product, your app will continue to grow and evolve. AppStart will be your partner in the growth process. We offer services in both project and data management, as well as access to a host of analytical tracking tools that will allow us to hone in on most successful features of your app. By identifying these key features, updates can be applied that build on these successes and allow your app to better achieve your intended goals.
